David: I have been in recovery from alcoholism for 28 yrs. and at one time spent 4 ½ yrs. in prison myself. Being a believer, while incarcerated I came to understand that I had a full knowledge of God and recovery but had to make the choice to put it into practice daily. God removed my desire to drink and that forever changed the direction of my life.
Debbie: I accepted Christ at a very young age but did not incorporate my faith into my daily life until the consequences of David’s addiction became the focal point of our lives. Being powerless to change anything, I connected with God in a deeper way and made the choice to follow His direction.
Shortly after David’s release from prison in 1999, we followed God’s call on our lives to service through Celebrate Recovery which is a Christ centered 12-Step recovery ministry and within the local jail system since 2013.
We are the volunteer chaplains for the Blue Ridge Regional Jail Authority and have been working to develop a volunteer base to help facilitate Celebrate Recovery and Bible Studies within the facilities.
We are both committed to serving Jesus Christ and have been in ministry together for 20 yrs. and have been married for 34yrs.
Our mission
The Land in Between Ministry shall be a Gospel of Jesus Christ Jail Ministry with the purpose of bringing hope and healing to hurting people as they answer God's call on their life. The Ministry will teach people that through repentance and faith in a personal relationship with Jesus Christ that He will change their lives with eternal salvation and help them recover from hurts, hang-ups and habits and create a desire for them for healthier choices through the regenerating work of the Spirit in their lives.
The Land in Between Ministry began in January 2022 and is a 501 C3.
Our 25 plus volunteers have a passion to reach out to the those who have the desire to make lasting changes in their lives through a relationship with Jesus Christ
